Yeah they go in both directions! You can contact Captain Gisbert directly or book a boat via Blue Sailing.

Do these sails go the other direction: from Cartagena to Panama? Is so, do you know how to book? I see the email that you included, I’m guessing I can ask Gisbert.

I did it around late January. Not sure what horror stories you heard! Our boat also used motors, so I used the term sailing here in its broader sense. The journey was quite smooth, though the 2 days in the high seas caused some seasickness for a few passengers. Might want to bring some pills for that if you think you’ll be sensitive to the waves.

I am planning to to cross panama to colombia in July this year but have heard nothing but horror stories. It has also been said that the seas are too calm in July to sail so need to have a motorized boat. Any tips would be very much appreciated, Thanks VB

Pickup in Panama was arranged/included when I booked. Left early in morning and were off on the boat sometime closer to midday.

Hmm, it’s best to book your boat a few days ahead of time if you’re going to arrive in Panama City just the day before.

Not sure if there’s a way to avoid tax. Not heard of this before though. Is this a visa fee only for US nationals? (I’m European.) If so there’s no way to avoid paying.
