Nice tips and love the idea of a geo guide. I hope to make it back someday to see the mountains!

Nice to see that you have discovered part of Romania and that you have described some of the most important attractions so well. As a tour guide (actually a geotour guide, promoting mostly tourist attractions related with landforms), I may recommend you for the next visit in Romania the Retezat National Park (amazing landscapes, glacial lakes and wilderness – you find more details here https://laurentiuartugyan.com/2020/08/28/la-mijloc-de-august-in-parcul-national-retezat/ or here https://laurentiuartugyan.com/2020/04/12/trasee-montane-vf-retezat/ by using the English translation for the website), but also some other great natural attractions such as Nera Gorges, Caras River Gorges, Danube Gorges, Beusnita Waterfalls.
If I can help you with details for your next visit in Romania, please don’t hesitate to contact me.
All the best and enjoy all your journeys,
Laurentiu 🙂

as a Romanian i really have to say that your blog post is very well put together, you put together the most beautiful sides of a very beautiful country.i love traveling in my own country and discovering many things there, and through your blog post i got to know things that as a local i didn’t find that interesting but find interesting now because of your good descriptions.
Although you ever want to visit the country again, you should visit : Pesterea Ursilor , Varful Curcubata Mare , The Thermal baths in Baile 1 Mai or Baile Felix,

He than made an application for European money and in a couple of years this architectural monument underground was ready.

In my opinion one of the best times to visit Transylvania is on Halloween. There is a very funny party in Sighisoara citadel with magician’s shows, Vampire Killing show and a Ritual Killing of a Living Dead. Nothing scary just people enjoying a well-organized masquerade party with contests. Another one is Bran Castle Halloween Party, which is a club like atmosphere and the biggest in Romania

I’m sorry Petrinca, I took some steps to simplify things. I’ll mention Moldova in my other article to stop the soul-bleed. 😉 I look forward to exploring the northeast next time!

In northeastern Romania you will find Moldova (the region).
Please update, because my soul is bleeding. Thank you!

I really wanted to see the gorge but ran out of time! 10 days was not enough… I need to go back 🙂

It’s beautiful and a great place to go for a hike.
