Is the VPN something you implemented or something your job requires you to use?

I need to be out sometimes. I have a CISCO VPN, what will work best for hiding my location and making it seem I’m still at home location? I don’t think they can track us but I want to be sure.

Thanks Marek, thats what I was thinking as well. Appreciate the feedback. I will go with option 3 in this case with keepyourhomeip

It won’t make you more hidden… it’s still possible to see you’re using a VPN when using the dedicated IP option, which can be on a list of known VPN IPs.

Instead of keepyourhomeip, if I get additional service of dedicated IP with Nordvpn, will it give the same level of privacy as option 3?

I am also blocked from switching location services off on the laptop. I have previously used the travel router along solution and this did not work good previously due to an issue with the router connecting to NordVPN, it had leaked my location. Do you think keepyourhomeip solution would work for me?

You need to ensure the mini router is actually running nordVPN according to the instructions linked above. If it is, then any device connected to its signal will be VPN protected. You won’t get VPN protection just from using the mini router… it has to be set up first.

Not sure if that is what you meant though!

I have done steps 1 & 2 on my phone just fine. My company laptop prevents me downloading NORD VPN or logging in online, or changing firewall settings (all req. administrator login).

If I connect to the wifi link I created using the Mini router (gl-inet), is my VPN protected? or do I need to take further steps to link NORD VPN?

Thank you!

Yes your home router will need to stay connected as all of your internet traffic will be routed through it. The idea is that you’ll use this connection continuously rather than checking in only in the morning (or any other time).

Planning to go out the country for a few months and want to work from there , unfortunately my work doesn’t allow it , my question is if I go with keep your home wifi will the router at my home need to stay connected to the internet? And also would I need to connect to the router every morning while working abroad?
